We’re getting Notion Mail 😍
First things first here:
- Notion Mail IS NOT yet available. It’s in closed alpha but you can sign up to the waitlist here
- Notion Mail is a standalone app, similar to Notion Calendar
- It will generally be free to use (with maybe some advanced features requiring a paid Notion plan)
- You can expect it to launch publicly early 2025
For a first look, I highly recommend you check out my update video below – but I’ll try my best to give you a quick overview:
Notion Mail feels very much like Notion.
You get your familiar visuals, a sidebar and even slash commands when composing an email.
(and yes, you can use pretty much all Notion blocks to write one, so… callouts & quote blocks, anyone? 😎)
Power Users can navigate it mostly through shortcuts, you have rules and built-in AI processing and a ton of other thoughtful features that will make Notion Mail a great email app.
BUT, the most exciting thing is Notion’s approach to your inbox (and how to organise your emails).
Put simply, they’re bringing databases to your inbox 😍
That means:
- You can create properties like Assignee or Type to build workflows right in your inbox
- You can create views based on these properties and group emails together
- Just like with Notion, Notion Mail will be a big canvas that you can customise to fit exactly your workflow
But of course, it’s still early.
Many things might change before the public release, but one thing is for sure: this is a really exciting first step.
